LiMa – HouseEurope receives the Obel Award – Instandhalten und Entwickeln

„Big news from Copenhagen:

HouseEurope! receives the OBEL Award 2025, which recognizes architectural contributions with the potential to drive meaningful change.

The OBEL Award recognises and rewards architecture’s potential to act as tangible agents of change.

Why is this huge?
Because this isn’t just about buildings — it’s about collective action, systemic change, and a citizen-led movement shaking up Europe’s building industry.

We’re the first-ever citizen campaign to receive the award. The OBEL Jury recognized our work in challenging demolition culture, exposing profit-driven agendas, and making reuse a political issue.

“HouseEurope! redefines what architectural impact can be. By challenging the culture of demolition and calling for legislative change, it shows that working with existing buildings shouldn’t be just a design choice but a social and environmental imperative.”
