Selbstbau -19 Tommy Weisbecker house

I still remember that winter of 1985 very well. I didn’t do the hanging of ceiling. I tended to do the light work. In the middle of winter, there was a heater behind me and you were freezing in front. It was so cold and then you cut yourself when laying tiles and that was annoying.

I had no experience with Self-build work. Reinhard came to check the work and then said: that’s not how it works!  So I threw the tiles at him. But then people from Tommy-Weisbecker-Haus in Berlin-Kreuzberg (Self-managed living and working collective since 1973) came, they had experience with self-builds, and they helped us.
