Stop the demolition of the high-rise building An der Urania 4-10 – rebuild instead of demolish!
“Together with about 15 others, we founded a new initiative to save the highrise building An der Urania 4-10 in Berlin that is meant to be demolished in january 2024.We would be happy if you support our new initiative: sign the petition against the demolition and follow @an.dersURANIA on instagram!
This former office building an der Urania 4-10 is due to be demolished in January 2024. But Berlin can no longer afford this demolition – and not a single more!
We call on the Senate and BIM GmbH to take into account the resulting CO2 pollution and to stop the demolition of Urania 4-10!
The building is owned by the city – so the senate could intervene easily. The senate was asked several times to invite tenders for a feasibility study that checks how the building could be transformed instead of being demolished – they never did. So we also produced an alternative feasability study in which we show our results on how we think this building can be renovated and transformed, and also how to deal with PCB pollution in the building. You can download the study (its in german) on the website of the initiative.
